UFFIZI GALLERY
The city of Florencia is known as the Cradle of Renacimiento and is home to some of the best art galleries in the world. One of the most popular art museums in the world is the Uffizi Art Gallery.
Galería de los Uffizi houses some of the most important works of Western European art.
By visiting the Uffizi gallery or participating in their events, you will gain a deeper understanding of past cultural, economic, and political situations. Collections from the Medici were given to the state of Tuscany so that they would “adorn the state, be of use to the public, and attract foreigners’ curiosity. “Visit the museum to learn more about its rich history, exceptional art collection, and inspiring architecture.
In the Galería de los Uffizi, you will find works of art by great Italian artists such as Botticelli, Giotto, Cimabue, Miguel Ángel, Leonardo da Vinci, y Raffaello, to name a few. A large part of its collection dates back to the periods between the 12th y 17th centuries, but it also has works from other centuries.
El Uffizi complex was originally intended as a public administrative office for the powerful Medici family ( Uffizi means office ). The museo opened in 1865, showcasing the family’s highly sought-after art collection.
Each year, over 2 millones visitors walk through its doors to admire its vast and priceless collection of artwork.
