THE TRIBUNE

Michelangelos David is housed in the Tribune, along with paintings by Bronzino, Cecchino Salviatiog Allori fra 16 århundrede.

I 1873, the statue of David should have been placed under a bright skylight, a halo-like dome. In August of that year, the David, transported within a wooden frame, moved on rails specially built for the relocation from Piazza della Signoria til Accademia.

Imidlertid Tribune wasn’t completed, so it couldn’t be moved into the Accademia! Records from the archive indicate that the statue was kept in the wooden cart outside until 1882 when the Tribune opened. During those nine years, David stood inside a wooden crate!

Accademia galleri has two additional sub-halls connected to this leading Tribune. Both rooms are situated, with one lifted to the Davide statue and the other right next to the David statue.

Here are some beautiful pictures of the tribune hall of the academy gallery
